Leenie McNabb of Dreamscapes
Faux Finishing attended the Newberg, OR certification for Stoney
Brook Preferred Applicators. Here she is creating a sample board.
Chuck Ricks, C.P. and SBPA Certified Instructor
demonstrates how to get a finished edge by tearing the paper.
After the wall was properly primed and sealed
with a wallpaper primer/sealer, Chuck installs the first piece of
# 24 ROSE QUARTZ. The knock down texture on this ceiling (joint
compound) was not painted. We had to mask off the ceiling to ensure
no wallpaper adhesive would get on the ceiling. Wiping glue off
the ceiling will remove the joint compound.
Leenie tries her hand at applying Stoney Brook
Torn Paper.
It's important to wipe off each piece immediately
after it's installed. Pay careful attention to the edges which must
lay flat, wiping from the center out on each piece.
Diamonds are new. Use a different color when installing
diamonds. Here Chuck uses a pole mounted laser level to to ensure
everything is lined up perfectly. If you look closely you can see
the red "cross hair" projected by the laser level.
Find the exact center of the wall and install the
middle column first starting at the ceiling.
Leenie is an accomplished faux painter and muralist.
Now she can add Stoney Brook Preferred Applicator to her list of
accolades.
